As managers and directors of a non-profit organization, we know that management is about more than just telling people what to do. As managers, it can sometimes seem like there are an endless amount of tasks and chores that must be performed to keep an organization running smoothly and effectively. Management gurus have categorized the functions of management into four distinct areas: planning, organizing, leading and controlling. Each area is particularly important for non-profit management.

1) International Board of Directors – is located at the head office in Mississauga Ontario Canada. This board is responsible for all matters on both the international and national level. Example: YHH Canada, YHH USA.

2) International Directors – are responsible to the International Board of Directors and provides leadership to all national and international management and staff.

3) Country Overseers – answer to the International Director and oversees all matters on a nation-wide level. Example: Canada, USA, Australia. 

4) Provincial, State, and District Presidents – are responsible for matters associated with all provincial, state, and district levels. Examples: Ontario Canada, Florida USA.

5) Cities, Towns and Districts Chapter Leaders – answer to the District Presidents and oversee the business and local Junior and Member membership of their local chapter. Example: Mississauga, Toronto, New York City.
