“Youth respond best when they know you care”
YHH.ROCKS is launching two new programs:
First is, “ON OUR STAGE”. This program will offer opportunities for all youth to showcase their talents. Mini events like, “COME ON UP” will give our youth opportunities (that they may not get elsewhere) to get on stage and let the world know they are the next big stars.
Second is, “SUBWAY SOUNDS”. This program features a series of interviews with people who perform on the streets and within the subway system. Many individuals go unnoticed (except for a chance encounter) as we go about our daily business. Let’s give them a chance to showcase their great talent. Why not watch their videos and then take the time to go and see them in person.
“Great talent should never be hidden”
Note:
Parents be patient and don’t force your children (especially teens) to do anything they don’t want to do. Always be open-minded and try find a compromise to everything. By trying new things that they like will show them that you care about what makes them happy. Learn More
YOUTH 13 – 21 ENTERTAINMENT/ACTIVITIES
So, you want to:
BE A SINGER – You need to sing like no one is listing, because it’s irrelevant.
DANCE – Have you ever been to a party or a night on the town and spent the whole time standing around with a drink in your hand? Maybe you should ask someone to dance! Don’t say you can’t dance, if you can walk, you can dance.
PLAY AN INSTRUMENT – What do most teenage students have in common? They feel like they are the only person over 13 who has ever started to learn how to play an instrument.
PLAY SPORTS – More and more teenagers are passing on the opportunity to play sports — and that’s not good!
ENJOY A HOBBY – Hobbies give teenagers a chance to meet new people, discover new passions, develop skills outside of school, and do something all kids (yes, teens are part kid) should do: have fun.
HAVE A SOCIAL LIFE – Parental Role in the Social Life of Teenagers
Many parents want to fix their youth’s friend problems, you can’t, so, don’t try!
Here are some answers to 4 questions you’ve always wanted to ask:
1) What does a healthy teenage social life look like?
2) What do you do when your kid is being left out?
3) What if it’s your kid that is the mean girl or boy?
4) So, what’s good about these struggles?
CHILDREN 7 – 12 ENTERTAINMENT/ACTIVITIES
So, you want to:
SING – Singing is an invaluable skill that children love to learn.
PLAY AN INSTRUMENT – 7 to 12 years old – By age 7, many students are physically able to hold heavier instruments,
DANCE – All children learn best by hands-on experience (giving it a try),
ARTS AND CRAFTS – Looking for great crafts for your 7 to 12-year-old? Fed up with hearing “I’m bored”.
FUN AND GAMES – Entertaining children indoors can be challenging, as they tend to turn their noses up at all suggestions that don’t involve technology.
FUN PARTIES – Birthdays are only one reason to have a party.
